Carefree
At the base of the Black Mountains overlooking the Valley of the Sun you will
find the charming town of
Carefree! This town is bordered (on two sides) by the majestic Tonto National Forest and the Verde River. The area features a distinctive desert setting with huge sand colored boulders, unique saguaros, and wild jack rabbits! Daily you are greeted with spectacular views of the Valley, mountains and sun sets!
Carefree is a small town with a population of only three thousand. The stunning desert landscapes along with the cooler temperatures attract tourists and valley residents to Carefree.
As in the rest of the Valley, golf is a popular recreational
activity here. The courses stand out from the rest in their unique design. Each
course has been sensitively integrated into the majestic desert landscape and
the jagged mountain edges. All this makes the golfing experience in Carefree
second to none!
Though Carefree is a small town it is not without sumptuous dining and superb shopping!
Additional attractions include bed and breakfasts, old gold mines, and
the largest sundial in the Western Hemisphere, expanding ninety feet in
diameter!
Carefree started as a planned community back in 1950 and today remains as
carefree as ever. Life here is carefree!
